We help our under-served neighbors acquire safe, healthy housing and improve life skills.
We Need Your Help!
The May downpour caused some serious flooding at the Springs apartments. Hometown Missions, Project Connect, St. Vincent de Paul’s and other organizations and individuals are helping the residents during this trying time. We are paying for temporary lodging, storage units, and pet boarding. We are also coordinating volunteers to help pack and move belongings, provide meals, and eventually help clean the apartments once folks can move back in.
It costs between $80-$150 per day to help these 25 family units. Please consider donating your time or financial resources. And THANKS!
Were You Impacted by the 2019 Floods?
We’re coordinating with local resources in Dripping Springs to assist the folks at the Springs Apartments as well as others who were impacted by the recent floods. If you were impacted and need some assistance or support, please give us a call at 512-481-2562 or email us.
Early 2019 Project
“Minga’s Makeover” in the North 40
A local senior couple who live in the North 40 (near DS United Methodist Church) have a mobile home in desperate need of new siding. The husband is on dialysis and can't physically do this type of work. His wife has several jobs and is a hard worker. They saved up enough money to buy the siding, but recently had to dip into that fund for some unexpected medical bills. They still have a significant sum to put toward the siding with Hometown Missions covering the rest of the costs.
Thanks to a group of volunteers, new siding was installed over the course of 4 weekends. We called in a “favor” for priming and caulking for the new siding. And then the REAL fun started. Over the course of two days, 80 high school juniors and seniors painted Minga’s home and Liza’s home, which we finished in December. They also installed a new fence at Liza’s. Check out the pictures of these AWESOME high school young folk.
