Deborah Hammons Home Repair & Support
More than a year ago, Deborah Hammons reached out to Hometown Missions seeking help with several pressing issues around her home. At the time, her beloved husband, Shamus, was nearing the end of his life and could no longer complete the repairs himself. After his passing, the family took the time they needed to grieve and heal.
In the spring of 2025, the Dripping Springs faith community rallied around Deborah. Volunteers from Hill Country Bible Church cleared overgrowth along the driveway and made minor interior repairs, while Sunset Construction & Excavation rebuilt the long drive with fresh road base from the street to the house.
Hometown Missions joined in by demoing and reframing the bathroom, preparing the exterior for painting, adding new siding to the laundry shed, and addressing structural needs that improve the home’s safety and longevity. Deborah shared her gratitude, saying she felt “loved and seen” by the volunteers who showed Christ’s love through their actions. With these repairs, she and her son Quinn now feel more secure and hopeful for the future.
