From Ice Storm to Impact
When winter weather forced Hometown Missions to postpone the January 24th Service Day due to an incoming ice storm, safety came first. A week later, on January 31st, more than 20 volunteers gathered on a crisp but beautiful Saturday to serve Michelle Gibbs and her son Ryan. Volunteers of all ages worked tirelessly to fill a dumpster with debris, cut and chip fallen trees along the home and driveway and repair the broken front steps and porch that had pulled away from the house. The day was made possible through generous community support, especially from DS Rentals, who donated the chipper rental. Thank you! A special thanks goes to the youth from DS Methodist Church, whose joyful spirit and willingness to tackle every task brought energy and encouragement to everyone involved. It was a powerful reminder that when neighbors show up for one another, real progress happens.
